KMC (Karavansalija Mineralized Centre), Serbia

Location

  • approximately 285 kilometres from the capital city of Beograd near the large town of Novi Passar.
  • Accessible by paved and gravel roads; close to rail
  • within 400 kilometres of several lead-zinc and copper smelters

Ownership

  • 100% EurOmax exploration license on 42 km 2

Geology

  • 12 km2, more than 400 metres thick.
  • lies within the regionally extensive Tertiary-aged, Kopaonik metallogenic zone, well known for lead-zinc-silver and copper mineralization related to granodiorite volcano-intrusive complexes.

Mineralization

At least five types of mineralization are presently recognized:
  1. copper-gold skarn
  2. gold skarn
  3. lead-zinc-copper-gold skarn
  4. volcanic-hosted gold and
  5. breccia pipe-hosted gold.
One or more untested porphyries are believed present at depth.

Activity

  • 40 wide-spaced drill holes have tested a handful of the numerous targets at KMC through 2010.
  • Recent highlights include: EOKSC-1037 0.52 g/t Au and 0.32% Cu over 112.7 metres, including 1.19 g/t Au and 0.44% Cu over 24.5 metres.
  • 2,500 diamond drill programme completed in Q4 2011 to test new anomalies and extensions of known mineralisation.
