EurOmax Resources Limited (EurOmax) is a Canadian minerals exploration company focused on the discovery and development of metal deposits in SE Europe.
From a base in Sofia, Bulgaria projects in Bulgaria, Macedonia and Serbia are being explored for gold and base metals. EurOmax made the strategic decision in 2003 to focus on the metals potential of SE Europe after a systematic and global review of prospective terrains. The Company was attracted to SE Europe because of the prospectively of the geological terrain, availability of quality exploration and support professionals and a long history of gold and base metal mining..
Our Strategy
Our vision is to build a successful minerals exploration and production company.
Our strategy to achieve this remains the same - building value for shareholders through exploration and acquisition in south east Europe. With success we will deliver major benefits to the countries and communities in which we operate and make major metal discoveries in the region.
Commencing in 2003 EurOmax acquired six gold and copper exploration properties in Bulgaria. Of these projects, three formed the basis of the 2006 Australian IPO, Balkans Gold Ltd in which EurOmax is the largest shareholder.
We continue our partnership with Teck Cominco Ltd at the Trun project in western Bulgaria with a significant program of drilling and geophysics anticipated for 2008.
Consistent with our strategy, EurOmax entered into an option to acquire 100% in nine exploration properties and applications in Macedonia and Serbia from Freeport McMoRan Copper and Gold Inc. ("Freeport") in July 2007. This acquisition has created the most geographically diverse, SE European minerals exploration company - EurOmax Resources Limited.
Our Business & People Program
If we are to be successful in SE Europe our business must be sustainable. We must achieve not only profitability as a corporation but we must also give back to the countries and communites in which we operate.
Wherever EurOmax operates, health and safety is the first priority and we put sustainable development at the core of our business operations. We work as closely as possible with host countries and communities, respecting their laws and customs. By our actions we have shown that it is important for us that our environmental effects are kept to a minimum and that local communities benefit as much as possible from our activities from the earliest stages of minerals exploration.
We support local communities with program in schools including an innovative visiting artist program which has produced some remarkable results from budding young talent. Our ethnographic program in western Bulgaria employs local museum staff to record the lives and times of older community members.
Our people
EurOmax has an experience team of minerals exploration professionals and support staff across the region - we consider they are critical to our success and value their contribution and their professional development.
